iPhone 6 randomly turning off and not turning on again for hours

I have a iPhone 6 and recently the device has been randomly turning off and sometimes it just restarts, but more recently its been off for 6+ hours. I have 2GB left so it's not a memory issue. I tried to update to IOS 9.3.5, but I keep getting errors "unable to install update". The screen sometimes "glitches out" then turns off, if that helps to figure out this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try to set it back to factory settings, without using the latest backup. Test the phone. If it works, restore from the backup.
